LocIX AS112 Instance

LocIX run it's own instance of AS112, every member can peer over the ixp with them

What is AS112 ?

Some network app need to do reverse resolving (PTR). It's usefull to got the reverse dns of any ip.

On internet, IANA reserve some space as private like 10.0.0.0/8 or 192.168.0.0/16. Your applications do reverse dns resolve for that hosts too
The problem with that, it's your computer do PTR on private subnet and achieve them on the public network.

Those private PTR requests have two negative effects, one it's slow down some PTR resolution and second it's leak some info about your internal network

AS112 run dns servers and handle those requests by reply they don't exists
It's mostly an anycast network, and to help anycast network we operate one of them for LocIX members.
